Olive Oil Culture Award to Cristina Santagata

Olive Oil Culture Award to Cristina Santagata

During Officina Festival 2020, the award dedicate to the Culture of Olive Oil was presented to the Genoese entrepreneur Cristina Santagata, CEO of Santagata 1907, the fifth generation of a family that has dedicated its professional life to selecting high-quality olive oils and extra virgin oils.

The motivation for the award was as follows: “Managing Director of two joint-stock companies in the olive oil sector, including the historic family oil company founded in 1907, also boasts prominent roles in representative bodies, testifying to a complete and multifaceted figure, which is what the olive oil sector lacks: dynamism, determination and vision of the future. So, if a woman in the world of olive oil is not a rarity today, a woman who boasts authoritative positions of prestige is in itself a distinctive element that highlights on the one hand how much the civil and entrepreneurial society is still behind in not understanding how the gender difference is only a mental tare, on the other hand it clearly emerges all the value of those who manage to impose themselves in a partly hostile context”.
