The key ingredients for weaning? One tablespoon of extra virgin strictly raw

Cristina Santagata speaks in issue 15 of OOF International Magazine dedicated to children explaining how a spoonful of extra virgin strictly raw is the key ingredient for weaning their children.

“To say that extra virgin olive oil has been the star of our tables since 1907 seems too self-referential an argument.

I prefer to focus on the future and talk about the idea I have of weaning Luce, my baby. I took advantage of this occasion, with issue 15 of OOF International Magazine dedicated to children, to talk with the nanny who follows my little one. With 44 children under her belt, I consider her a more than reliable reference in childcare.

Tata Alida when asked what are the basic ingredients of weaning immediately mentioned a “tablespoon of extra virgin oil strictly raw”! And this brings me to my first point: today more than ever, every parent recognizes the importance of healthy nutrition for the growth of their children. The consumer of 2023 is certainly more aware than even in the recent past. We are all looking for authenticity: short supply chain, traceability and sustainability have become leitmotifs of conscious shopping. However, I wonder how all this can be reconciled with the “I only buy if on offer” approach that characterizes much of the shopping that takes place on the shelves of large retailers. A more accurate reflection on the centrality of this product, even and especially starting from the nutrition of the youngest, could be a crucial topic in every consumer’s choice. And it is also food for thought for those working in the sector.”
