Qualified tasters
The strong dedication of Santagata to quality is testified by the fact that all the company managers are professional tasters. In 1983 the National Organization of Olive Oil Tasters – ONAOO – was established, since then the Chamber of Commerce recognises and supports the organisation’s mission to promote and protect the important cultural patrimony of the olive oil tasting art.
Mario Santagata, the grandfather of the current company managers, was one of the first company owners to join the Organisation and to take part to its activities since its constitution. The Santagata company is highly committed in offering high-quality products; to do so not only the company management, but also all the employees from the sales sector have attended professional training courses and they all have an in-depth knowledge of the company products.
The training courses to become a qualified taster are made up of theory lessons, 30 tasting sessions, a final examination and the subsequent local Chamber of Commerce registration.
