Caves and Gardens in the time of Rubens

Santagata 1907 is the official sponsor of the exhibition ‘Caves and Gardens at the Time of Rubens. Delights and marvels in Genoa at the dawn of the seventeenth century’ scheduled at Palazzo della Meridiana in Genoa from 14th October 2022 to 22nd January 2023.

The exhibition, curated by Lauro Magnani and organised by the Associazione Amici di Palazzo della Meridiana, is part of the project ‘Genova per Rubens. A Network’ and aims to represent the special relationship that the Baroque painter had with the city of Genoa.

The public will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the magic of Genoa’s caves and gardens with an innovative approach. Due to the current condition of the caves, which are difficult to visit and in a precarious state of preservation, visitors will be able to follow an itinerary made up of projections, real immersive experiences in these enchanted spaces.

At the end of the exhibition, the visitor, through the suggestion of images and texts, will be led to exercise his or her imagination in the reconstruction of a now-lost structure, built in the same Palazzo Grimaldi della Meridiana that hosts the exhibition.

The exhibition will be open from Friday 14th October 2022 to Sunday 22nd January 2023 from Wednesday to Sunday and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Mondays and Tuesdays closed.
