From January 1 the extra virgin olive oil has been quoted on average 110 times a day for a total of almost 15,000 messages, articles, radio / TV broadcasts. 70% of the communication concerns Italy, 30% English-speaking countries testifying to the growing interest in extra-virgin olive oil, in particular from the American public, which increasingly considers it a product that is not only good but healthy. In the USA they are investing heavily in research into the benefits of extra virgin oils and new diagnostic technologies.
The biggest peak in positive communication came around January 23 following a conference on the development of global consumption held in London. The news repeatedly relaunched and commented on in the media and on social media was the positive perspective of oil consumption which in the five-year period 2019/2023 is growing by 3% precisely in consideration of the increase by consumers in the awareness of organoleptic qualities and of the health-giving qualities of the EVO oil.
